@TerrorTV My opinion on Sea Shepherd is not positive. Endangering lives at sea is a serious criminal offence and a poor political tactic.

via Twitter Web Client

@TerrorTV I think confiscating Sea Shepherd’s footage would more likely be about a criminal investigation than censorship.

@yeebok That’s the article’s point. Normal “teenage exploration” is being branded “child sex offence”. Does our society really want this?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to yeebok

Wondering if I can attach a Google Analytics goal conversation step to a WordPress cformsII “submit” button. Tricky at this hour.

via Twitter Web Client

@yeebok Combine that with vigilantes calling for the home addresses of all “sex offenders” to be public… it all gets very scary.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to yeebok

@yeebok Not being able to use MySpace is minor. Not being able to work in a school ever? Having it show up whenever you applied for a job?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to yeebok

Setting up the client’s Google Adwords campaign which didn’t get done yesterday thanks to the serious upfuckage I mentoned.

What’s more disturbing? Teens swapping naked pics of themselves, or getting branded sex offenders for life? http://is.gd/keDX

@yeebok The user pics on comments on my website are “global avatars” set at http://gravatar.com.

@jeffsonstein Someone else said Hamilton’s rant in “The Australian” http://is.gd/jF7w makes more sense if you replace “the boy” with “I”.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to jeffsonstein

@jeffsonstein Yes, the 3 main pro-filtering folks, apart from Sen Conroy, are those two gooses and Jim Wallace. http://is.gd/i2PN

Liberated from paywall, “the most unworthy article Crikey has ever published”: “Outclassed Conroy hides in his bedroom” http://is.gd/knfC

@jeffsonstein (And remember, in Australia, “professor” is a senior title, not “just” a lecturer”. If he wraps himself in the university…)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to jeffsonstein

@jeffsonstein If he’d written a private citizen, sure. However Hamilton signs his rants about censorship as “Professor of Public Ethics”.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to jeffsonstein

@jeffsonstein Involving his employer is tough, true. OTOH, I declared “gloves off” re Hamilton and McMenamin in December. http://is.gd/c4f8

via Twitter Web Client in reply to jeffsonstein

@jeffsonstein Clive Hamilton’s “Help I’m being repressed” argument is a bit rich. He gets unfettererd access to the media. http://is.gd/kaV0

via Twitter Web Client in reply to jeffsonstein

@martinbarry Actually, we also had a local family of 3 kookaburras decide that they’d do their morning screech just outside, which is nice.

@facibus Yes, I know how much you poor, deprived Canberra folk crave the presence of Interesting folk like us. Can’t you move your work?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to facibus

Emerges. I know it’s early for a Sunday but, yes, the usual combination of cats and heavy jets overhead… [Sigh.]

via Twitter Web Client

@websinthe No, I meant why doesn’t Hamilton post comments directly on blogs? He seems to need to wrap himself in The Australian.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to websinthe

@websinthe Your “discussion” with Clive Hamilton is getting bizarre. http://is.gd/kaV0 Why doesn’t he post comments directly? Too “special”?

via Twitter Web Client

@facibus I assume that @deanlk and whoever else have planned our Wednesday night in Canberra? ;)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to facibus

@GeorgeArtz I seriously do like the (pseudo-)Yiddish “opgefuckt”.

via Twitter Web Client

@GeorgeArtz @TerrorTV Teh Google sayeth that I’m not the first person to use “upfuckage”.

via Twitter Web Client

@zenvuk People are, as you say, stupid. And lazy. This is a WordPress plugin. There IS a database of configuration settings to use. Idiots.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to zenvuk

Upfuckage has been delegated. Minor joy. (What kind of fool stores an entire system configuration as a single serialised string anyway?)

via Twitter Web Client

Deeply annoying upfuckage.

via Twitter Web Client

So, I just corrupted a serialised data string for which I don’t have a backup. That was clever. Now I need to be even moar cleverer. Sigh.

@zenvuk While the Zanzibar has a lovely view of Newtown Square, other aspects make it… a bit grim. ;)

@ozcoggs Good to meet you at @stub / last night, Sir, and thanks for all the drinks from Oracle!

OK, so I’m not going to the gym today after all. So I’ve been told. I am a Slave to the Monotremes.
