Gone.
I haven’t seen pikelets yet, @firstdogonmoon, but rozellas greeted me. http://youtu.be/WI42hQHf…
A four-poster bed is not excessive.
“They’re like any holiday photographs. It’s bunch of people stood around squiting who didn’t realise they were that fat.”
Oddly enough, I feel like I’m on one of @firstdogonmoon’s holiday adventures.
@RealNickHodge I’d better not tell you about the mud bricks and the herbal tea then. You’ll get cranky.
Damn. The W25’s SIM is locked to the device. I will not attempt to understand how to unlock it when I am so tired. “Slow” speeds it is.
Ignore those crappier speed tests. I think there’s something odd about the Ericsson W25’s results. It’s getting a poor signal somehow.
Using my HTC Desire rather than the Ericsson W25 gets me a ping of 221ms, 4.88Mbps down, 1.12Mbps up. I think the W25 has gone mad.
@jplonie The internets should be fine in the bathhouse. I’ll check tomorrow. I may even record “Patch Monday” in the bath. Or maybe not.
Speedtest: Ping 342ms, 0.8Mbps down, 0.13Mbps up. Yes, I definitely must try to fix that.
@lexiphanic Yes, I’m using my Next G connection, an adequate signal strength but I’ll see if I can find a cleaner signal later.
Actually, I should say, solar-powered internets coming to you from a mud-brick cottage surrounded by scrubland. http://arseh.at/3z9
I have arrived at my destination and I’m using the solar-powered internets. This will be an interesting week!
I’m still on a train.
I’m on a train.
I guess I am officially now of no fixed abode.
I have just left the Enmore house for the very last time. With luck, no-one will find the bodies.
The desk hasn’t been talent yet. You are all such liars.
Mobile: Check out; errands; final trip to the old house; more errands; lunch; remainder TBA.
New “Patch Monday” podcast: 7 tips for a safer internet. http://arseh.at/3zm
I wonder how much productivity is lost annually, Australia-wide, due to time spent talking to Telstra’s voice recognition system.
Lovely. My interview with Tim Wu @superwuster has been confirmed. http://arseh.at/3zi
You know, folks, not every business transforms its IT to the latest fashion the very first year it comes out.
@anthonybaxter Apollo would probably make a halfway decent casserole. I guess the grumpy lump has survived the night?
I’d have thought that box of Ethernet cables would’ve been sold by now, what with geeks running server rooms and stuff.
@dekrazee1 It’s too late to explore new methods of giving stuff away. I’d be surprised if the desk lasted the night on the street anyway.
For sale: New Cat6 Ethernet cables, still in packaging. 11 x 0.5m, 9 x 2m, 7 x 3m, 4 x 5m. $65 the lot. Free postage in Aust. Any takers?
@Bafflegabble What about Apollo?
Mon plan: Final inspection at the old house; lunch somewhere pleasant; train to Wentworth Falls with too much luggage; collapse.
At 0430 I was wide awake. Now as is approached 0800, after breakfast, I’m sleepy. This is somewhat annoying.
“Patch Monday” podcast filed. That’s one thing off my list done. Yay me.
For NSW, electionleaflets.org.au is back in action. @AntonyGreenABC explains why that’s important. http://arseh.at/3zf
The Universe insists that I be awake at this time, so be it. Sigh.
