@ajmaus I used to have all that stuff when I did more web development. I’ve not bothered recently. I’m writing mainly these days.

via TweetDeck in reply to ajmaus

That is all not true, so @sirneggles @dimi_the_geek tell me. Thanks.

via TweetDeck

@ajmaus Bah. Much quicker and easier to just ask rather than fucking up my environment.

via TweetDeck in reply to ajmaus

Someone told me that you have to have a Twitter account to see public tweets now. This is not true, surely?

Excellent. The “Patch Monday” podcast is complete, but I’ll file it in the morning after some final cross-checks.

via TweetDeck

@DownloadABC Of course, things were terribly, terribly analog back then…

via TweetDeck in reply to DownloadABC

@DownloadABC I co-presented a show on Triple J Adelaide on Sat nights in 1990[?]. Pre-record, but live-to-tape with studio clocks changed.

via TweetDeck in reply to DownloadABC

@DownloadABC As an aside, are you live or pre-recorded? Or is that a SEKRIT?

via TweetDeck in reply to DownloadABC

@GeordieGuy Don’t worry, I’ll sort them out soon enough I’m sure. ;)

via TweetDeck in reply to GordyPls

RT @DownloadABC: We START the show pants less for that exact reason. [Ah, that’d explain @bengrubb’s nervous laugh then. All good.]

via TweetDeck

Oh. Over already, @DownloadABC? I’d barely taken my pants off!

via TweetDeck

@derekbradley Oh well as long as Twitter is working as it should, all is well.

via TweetDeck in reply to derekbradley

So, @DownloadABC, why do musicians need a “service” to vampire-squid their money away? File naming convention on Amazon A3, done, dusted.

via TweetDeck

@derekbradley Where did I say Twitter can’t have both aspects? Where? WHERE?

via TweetDeck in reply to derekbradley

I’m thinking that thinking of Twitter as a “broadcast” mechanism is missing the entirety of its conversational aspects, @DownloadABC.

via TweetDeck

Mind you, it’s nice to hear voices younger than 85yo on Radio National, eh @DownloadABC? ;)

via TweetDeck

Uhoh. Someone said “going viral”. Stabbiness #1 right there, @DownloadABC.

via TweetDeck

Listening to @DownloadABC on Radio National. bit.ly/AeUNPM Eight minutes in, not stabby about anything yet. Bonus.

@moldor I have a work-around for now. I’m cleaning tomorrow afternoon, they may turn up. But I suspect they’re lost for good from a pocket.

via TweetDeck in reply to moldor

I just realised that the Mardi Gras has precisely zero relevance to my life, except that it drives up Sydney’s accommodation prices.

via TweetDeck

@moldor Well, I can’t find the earbuds anywhere, but they don’t seem to be in the wash either. Puzzled.

via TweetDeck in reply to moldor

@jeamland Vimeo or Viddler are your friends here.

via TweetDeck in reply to jeamland

Starting the “Patch Monday” podcast recording with @willozap and not with @piawaugh. Shoosh.

via TweetDeck

@DownloadABC Break a leg tonight. If things go according to plan I might even be able to listen in.

via TweetDeck

@D_Keating Thanks, glad you found it useful. Certainly there’s a lot more than could be added in 2012.

via TweetDeck in reply to D_Keating

@D_Keating Go for it. I’m not sure up to date my privacy statement is, but it’s a start.

via TweetDeck in reply to D_Keating

That annoying moment when you start to suspect that your good monitoring earbuds have just been put through the washing machine.

via TweetDeck

@petstarr @mwyres Deep breath, folks, deep breath…

via TweetDeck

Starting to prepare for my 1800 podcast recording. “Research”, I believe it’s called.

via TweetDeck

@expectproblems Please. Don’t use that language. It’s been three years since I had to insert my forearm into Active Directory. Time heals.

via TweetDeck in reply to expectproblems

@Shockwave @Drag0nista I know someone who changed his name to the mononym “Mouse”. Insisted title should be “The” ‘cos “Mr Mouse is silly”.

via TweetDeck

@Drag0nista My.. [splutter] my “infinite reserves of patience”, you say? Have you been drinking? /cc @Shockwave

via TweetDeck in reply to Drag0nista

@jeffsonstein Oh yeah all the data is backed up, that’s not a problem. It’s just the tedium of reinstalling so many apps.

via TweetDeck in reply to jeffsonstein

@TunaCrust @jeffsonstein @ApostrophePong @chrisbrownie Alas, I’m resigned to the need for a complete reinstall this week.

via TweetDeck

@Drag0nista @Shockwave I think it’s actually getting harder to have a mononym now, as simply everyone has a shitful computer database.

via TweetDeck in reply to Drag0nista

@smperris Yep, it was still cloudy here until last night, and Rosella Cottage has enjoyed a surfeit of invertebrates.

via TweetDeck in reply to smperris

FFS! That’s the fifth different species of spider I’ve had to invite to leave the room today. IT IS AN ARACHNID INVASION!

via TweetDeck

So I assume that amongst the 1.2GB of OS X updates I just installed that something might have actually been fixed.

via TweetDeck

Well I suppose the good news us that no hardware faults were detected. So I “only” have a complete wipe and reinstall from scratch to do.

via TweetDeck

@willozap Either us fine. With the built-in you can get problems with fan noise, but we’ll worry about that at 1800.

via TweetDeck in reply to willozap

@willozap Skype’s audio is better if you have good uplink bandwidth and a halfway decent microphone / headset. I record via Skype a lot.

via TweetDeck in reply to willozap

@willozap Logistics are you each on the end of your phone or Skype links, wherever you happen to be. No need to colocate.

via TweetDeck in reply to willozap

@willozap I have just confirmed with @piawaugh: 1800 AEDT as our record time. Looking forward to it.

via TweetDeck in reply to willozap

@willozap @piawaugh Sadly the podcast, being called “Patch Monday”, must be finished by the morning. May I suggest 1800 AEDT to record?

via TweetDeck

@piawaugh @willozap Late afternoon / early evening would work best for me. Time to prepare etc. But I’m quite flexible.

via TweetDeck in reply to piawaugh

@piawaugh I’d like to coordinate a time when both you and @willozap could be on the phone/Skype. For the internet podcast, you know.

via TweetDeck in reply to piawaugh

New blog post: “Weekly Wrap 87: Rain, unseasonable risk and videos” bit.ly/y4DJ6k

via TweetDeck

This is all a bit wrong.

via TweetDeck

Waiting for backups to run, and watching old opening sequences from “Stilgherrian Live”. Some of them were quite odd. May post ‘em later.

via TweetDeck

@stufromoz Indeed, but I also don’t like diskarbitrationd and dynamic_pager throwing stack traceback diagnostics. At least I have beer.

via TweetDeck in reply to stufromoz

@stufromoz @tardis_42 I’ll run hardware diagnostics before bothering with full rebuild, tho it was a messy Lion upgrade onto a new machine.

via TweetDeck

New blog post: “Gold Coast again, for Kickstart again”, so consider this a warning. bit.ly/A57Pau

via TweetDeck

I did a verify disc last night, @stufromoz. A few inode count errors. Other errors suggest hardware problems too. New machine tho.

via TweetDeck

RT @jeffsonstein: @stilgherrian @tardis_42 just pour some coffee into the ventilation slots. [Good thinking.]

via TweetDeck

New blog post: “Freedom of Information panel, orderly and disorderly”, Sydney 21 Feb. bit.ly/AxIofS

via TweetDeck

I will have to clean-rebuild this MacBook Pro some time. It’s just a lot too crashy for my liking. Or maybe it’s a hardware fault. Sigh.

via TweetDeck

Also, “5/02/12 7:01:33.091 AM com.apple.mdworker.pool.0: I/O error : encoder error” does not fill me with confidence.

via TweetDeck

“fseventsd: SLOWDOWN: client 0x7f8fd580a800 (pid 255) sleeping due to too many errors (num usleeps 94)” x many, @jeffsonstein @tardis_42

via TweetDeck

Ah yes, @jeffsonstein @tardis_42, it’s Sophos’ antivirus thingy. There was indeed a lot of disc activity happening. And lots of errors…

via TweetDeck

OK, so why is this computer going berserk again? What Is intercheck and why is it eating an entire processor core?

via TweetDeck

Sun plan, unordered: Unmess this computer; produce “Patch Monday” podcast; write a couple blog posts; note the existence of sunlight.

via TweetDeck

@piawaugh I believe I would like to talk to you and your accomplice at some point today, if that’s at all possible.

via TweetDeck in reply to piawaugh

No need to panic. It’s Sunday.
