My week of Monday 15 to Sunday 21 August 2022 was haunted by the cold which continued from last week, although as I write this I seem to have finally recovered. Nevertheless, I did quite a bit of sleeping, and some of my SEKRIT geek-work and editorial consulting was delayed.
As I write this I’m in Leura in the Blue Mountains, where snow is forecast for Tuesday. Fortunately I’ll be back down in Sydney by then, continuing my stint of housesitting, but it reminded me that there was snow here last year — and that’s why I’ve included a picture.
The crowdfunder for The 9pm Spring Series 2022 ends this Thursday.
At the time of writing we’re just 79% of the way to Target One with five days to go.
There’s still at least one more special-guest episode in the winter series of The 9pm Edict to come, however, and you’ll see the details below in bold.

The Week Ahead
It’s a busy week, the first day of which will be spent in Leura for day two of Tech Leaders Forum 2022. I return to Sydney for my SEKRIT housesitting that evening.
On Tuesday I hope to catch American democracy in peril: The US Senate’s crucial role from the United States Study Centre, although I do have quite a bit of work to do.
On Tuesday night, Bond on Tuesday sees a reprise of Sean Connery in the role in the non-Eon film Never Say Never Again (1983). Find a stream and get ready at 8.30pm AEST. We press PLAY at 8.40pm.
On Wednesday evening I’m recording an episode of The 9pm Edict with Dr Trent Yarwood. If you’re a supporter with TRIGGER WORDS or a CONVERSATION TOPIC for this episode, we’ll need them by 6pm AEST this Tuesday 23 August. The finished podcast will be posted on Friday or Saturday.
